No jogo de browser Grepolis, você começa com uma pequena pólis, que vai se desenvolvendo até uma metrópole, ao longo do tempo. Você pode escolher entre 13 edifícios diferentes e 8 monumentos para moldar seu império. Podem ser minas de prata, portos e serrarias. Também estão disponíveis mais de 30 tecnologias diferentes para pesquisar na Academia de Grepolis. São tempos de construção mais rápidos, bem como a capacidade de invadir outras cidades.
Além de você poder desenvolver sua pólis do jeito que quiser, existem vários deuses em Grepolis para você escolher como guardiões pessoais. A deusa Hera, por exemplo, pode ajudar você a aumentar a produção em sua pólis, enquanto que o deus do mar Poseidon pode lhe ajudar a enfraquecer o poderio naval de seus inimigos.
