Closed Beta Diary: From Stone Age to Bronze Age

This is how it works with the keys for the closed beta: Everyone who registers at www.forgeofempires.com has the chance to get a key, which he would receive via the registered email address within the next days and weeks (so don’t worry, if you haven’t received one yet, you still have all chances!). Furthermore, we will also continuously give away keys via our Facebook pages. Besides that, all players who have already played the Exclusive Preview will get an in-game message when they log in on the Exclusive Preview server (beta.forgeofempires.com).

For all those of you who did not have the chance to play Forge of Empires so far, we decided to share our first impressions of the closed beta with you. Thus, we will post a diary with our experiences in the game in the future. So stay tuned!

Today, long weeks of waiting were finally over as the closed beta of Forge of Empires has started. So, I was very excited when I woke up in the morning and could not wait to start the game. After receiving one of the beta keys, I created my account and logged in eagerly. Ragu Silvertongue – my right handman – already awaited me, helping me with my first steps in the world of Forge of Empires. So very quickly first houses for my people were set up, hunters where send to gather food and roads were set up to connect all the different buildings. With the help of Ragu I also very quickly finished the first quests – like increasing my population or building new huts – and received my first rewards. Some other players in my neighborhood started to visit me very quickly, boosting and polishing my buildings. As I am a noble ruler, I of course returned the favor. After setting up some houses and supply buildings first, I focused more on evolving my Stone Age settlement into the next possible age – the Bronze Age. In order to do so, I had to research new stilt houses as well as potteries. To not leave my city unprotected, I also invested some research points into developing spearfighter barracks. With a little army – provided by Ragu after my first quests – I started exploring the provinces near my city. As I noticed, one of them was only weakly protected. The fight was no match for my tactical abilities.

So the first province was conquered very quickly, providing me with an extra amount of coins. After building more houses and production buildings I will now try to gather some resources in order to quickly expand my territory. My neighbors will be surprised which mighty new ruler has entered the world of Forge of Empires today.
