En Grepolis, el juego de navegador, empiezas con una pequeña polis, que desarrollarás para convertirla, con el paso del tiempo, en una gran metrópolis. Podrás elegir entre 13 edificios y 8 monumentos diferentes con los que dar forma a tu imperio. Estos incluyen minas de plata, puertos y aserraderos. Contarás, además, con más de 30 tecnologías diferentes que investigar en la academia de Grepolis. Estas incluyen la reducción de los tiempos de construcción y la habilidad de invadir otras ciudades.
Además de poder edificar tu polis como quieras, tendrás la opción de elegir a uno de los dioses de Grepolis como tu protector. La diosa Hera, por ejemplo, te ayuda a incrementar la producción de tu polis y el dios del mar, Poseidón, puede ayudarte a mermar las fuerzas navales del enemigo.
