The West 2.0: Team Impressions

It’s time for The West 2.0 to prove its worth in an internal beta before the great showdown follows soon in the public beta.  We collected some impressions from the team members and asked them what they are working on and what they think The West 2.0 is about:

“Version 2.0 is about to hit the home stretch. The major features have been nearly finished already. Speaking as a player, I am looking forward to the new map and the new game features. Technically the source code changes are very important as new features will be easier to implement in the future…” Marcel Schwarze – Frontend Developer

“The new version is a great improvement! I was very positively surprised about the changes, the new map, new job system and other good changes. Graphics look awesome and I am sure players will love it and it will bring new life into game.” Anton Jakes – Community Manager .sk

“The most important new feature, the new map, is almost done. I’m currently working on some visual extras before I get back to implement the last outstanding features and to further smooth the gaming experience overall.“ Andre Gawron – Backend Developer

“With The West 2.0 we are on a very good way to bring the old West into the year 2012. Our Goal was to give a successful browser game the look that it deserves without forgetting the roots of the game. That means not to redefine the whole look but stay up-to-date in every graphical aspect…” Kevin Suckert – Graphic Artist

“The ‘West 2.0 Beta’ is visually already on such a high level, that it can no longer be compared to the ‘old’ game. At the moment we are remodeling the last windows to the new design and are nearly done with the new game features…” Quirin Stubbe – Game Designer

“Right now The West 2.0 experiences a quite labour intensive testing phase on our internal test server, to secure that it will have just a small amount of bugs when it hits our public beta servers. The game will show the players many differences in comparison to its state right now. Beside a beautiful redesigned full screen map and a new interface the start will be much easier and faster for new players.“ Sven Hessling – Game Tester

You can be sure that the team is continue working on The West 2.0 as fast as they can, so the players could profit from the new benefits of the Game soon. Moreover they are curious about the feedback of the players and hope to hit the market with the right changes. Stay tuned!
